LINEAGEOS ROM TWRP ERROR 7 FIX
So, let’s get started. If you are trying to flash Official Lineage OS ROM on your device via TWRP but if it showing Error “error 7” then you can try following steps to fix this error.
Pre-requisites
i) Internet Connection
ii) Rooted Android Device
iii) Zipping Program and computer

How to fix Error 7 while installing LineageOS?
Step 1. First, you need to download the ROM zip file and then extract that folder with ‘WinRAR,’ or you can use any of your favorite unzipping software.
Step 2. Once you unzip the file, go to META-INF/com/google/android directory.
You’ll find two files:-
i) update-binary
ii) updater-script
Step 3. Rename the ‘updater-script’ to ‘updater-script.txt’ and open the text file editor.
Step 4. Ignore the first line starting with ‘assert’ to the next semi-colon, and you need to delete them.
Step 5. Now, as you have deleted the lines quickly, ‘Save’ the file and move on.
Step 6. Rename the ‘updater-script.txt’ and paste it in the ‘updater-script.’
Step 7. Now you have to rezip the files.
Step 8. Copy the newly edited zip file to your smartphone.
Step 9. Again try re-installing the ROM, and it will install absolutely fine preventing twrp error 7.

Some of the reasons for Error 7
The most common reasons for this error are:
1. You are trying to install a build for a different device. You need to make sure you download the zip for the correct device *and* variant.
2. Now you need to flash the migration zip, marked as ‘experimental’. This is needed as you are attempting to migrate from an unofficial build to LineageOS.
3. Your vendor/modem/bootloader is too old (or maybe too new). Flash the correct stock image for your device, before wiping data and attempting to install LineageOS again. This information should be listed on the device’s wiki page.
